Bottom-up Funder Impact Estimator

Estimate a funder's impact directly from that funder's own pillar profile and chosen weights. This does not compare against or normalize to other funders.

Concept

This page is a bottom-up prototype of the same pillar structure used in the whitepaper, with a simplified calculation flow. We use a single funding body, one selected weight set, and no global benchmark normalization.

Estimator equation

Score = (Σ wi × Pi) / Σ wi

Pi = pillar score from the selected funder (0-100), wi = configured pillar weight.

Execution plan

  • Search and select one funder.
  • Adjust the five pillar weights to encode your priorities.
  • Run the estimator to output a score and contribution breakdown.
  • No world-wide assessment or rank normalization is required.

1) Search and select funding body

Use the search bar to find one funder, then select it for scoring.

Search and pick a funding body to load its pillar values.

2) Configure pillar weights

Move these sliders if your weighting priorities differ from default. Weight values are internally normalized for the score output.

Share of publications with strong academic citation and knowledge-flow signal.

Clinical and translational outputs connected to practical application.

Innovation-linked signal from patents, novelty, and adjacent indicators.

Societal uptake proxies from nonacademic relevance and policy pathways.

Cross-partner and collaboration breadth within the observed portfolio.

Weight sum (pre-normalization): 1.00

3) Execute calculation

Run with the currently selected funder and weights.
